My mother used to tell me that her dad, when she was young, never took them to restaurants, even when traveling, not even fast food… they’d stop at a store, buy bread, meat, and eat plain sandwiches. Never fast food.

They weren’t poor, so why?

Because my grandfather came of age during the Great Depression & never, ever wasted…
